Fora presents: Introduction to Alexander Technique, with City AcademyFree
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL BE A SMALL, PRACTICAL GROUP SESSION AND PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE MICROPHONES AND VIDEOS TURNED ON.
Over the years we become so accustomed to the ways in which we move (e.g. sit, stand, walk), we often do not realise that these habitual activities put strain on our bodies. The aim of this virtual introductory workshop led by professional Alexander technique teacher Cristina Codina, is to become aware of postural habits and how they interfere with our daily life activities. We will start with a short presentation with helpful tips on how to improve our posture and consequently release muscle pain. Following, participants will practice the classic semi-supine lying-down position to unwind some tension and breath more freely. In the last part of the session we will sit at the computer and with simple movements, we will work on the alignment specially in the upper body.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Each workshop focuses on a particular skill for business professionals and will offer quick-fire communication techniques to suit the group. We provide the tools to embed these practical techniques immediately. The sessions will be interactive in nature. As the sessions are focused on communication skills, participants will be required to switch on their microphone and camera. This way the tutor will be able to give personalised feedback in a constructive and positive framework.
