Join us for our monthly book club (the second Tuesday of every month) hosted by novelist Pony Louder.
Fora reads: Between the Covers
Fora - The Black & White BuildingThis month we’re discussing Yesteryear – and you’re welcome whether you’ve read every page, just started, or haven’t opened it yet. Thoughts, questions and half‑formed feelings all welcome.
How the evening works
We’ll start with a relaxed intro to Yesteryear, then break into small groups for book chats before moving on to our much‑loved communal book swap. Expect plenty of side‑chat, recommendations and literary matchmaking – and you’ll go home with something new to read.
New to the club?
Perfect. This is an easy‑going evening of conversation, laughter and books changing hands. It’s open to anyone who enjoys reading and good company – members, friends, partners, neighbours. If you’re looking to bring more reading into your life, this is a great place to start.
More on this month’s book: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
May’s book sits in the thriller category and is being referenced alongside cult classics like Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale.
We meet Natalie on her farm: a loving wife and doting stay-at-home mother, raising children, baking cakes… and running a successful influencer business.
But what she presents to her millions of followers is carefully constructed. Behind the scenes are nannies and producers; her husband has slept with one of them.
Things shift dramatically when Natalie wakes one morning and finds things are not as they should be.
Released on 9 April 2026, this book is already locked in for adaptation and poised to be one of the most talked about of the year. Buzzing with zeitgeisty themes – toxic influencer culture, right-wing populism, traditional gender expectations – it should be another fun one to read and discuss together.
