After losing her leg at 20, Milly rebuilt her life. Now a para-athlete and presenter inspiring others to push limits.
An evening with Milly Pickles
Fora - Chancery HouseIn 2017, Milly’s life changed forever after a traumatic accident at the age of 20 that resulted in a below-knee amputation. Rather than letting it define her, she rebuilt her life with a simple belief: adversity doesn't determine your future, how you respond to it does. Today, as a para-athlete, presenter and content creator, she inspires others to push beyond perceived limitations.
Through candid conversation and audience Q&A, Milly will demystify disability, challenge common misconceptions, and encourage open dialogue about accessibility and inclusion in everyday life and work.
More about Milly
Over the past five years, Milly has built a full-time career creating content around resilience, sport and mindset. She became the first amputee to complete the Red Bull 400, has run the London Marathon twice, raised more than £15,000 for STAND (formerly Legs4Africa), and hosted run clubs across the UK.
Alongside content creation, Milly has established herself as a presenter, reporting for Channel 4 at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and the BBC at the London Marathon 2026. She has been featured in HELLO!, Vogue and Women's Health, she became the first UK content creator to appear on the cover of the Red Bull Bulletin and was nominated for Creator of the Year at the ITV B Creator Awards. Her work has also seen her collaborate with brands including lululemon, Reiss, Oakley, Samsung, and L'Oréal.
Milly is currently writing her first book, sharing the full story of her accident for the very first time.
