Pride at Fora: Alpha Dancing
PRIDE AT FORA
Marking 50 years since the first UK Pride, this year, we’re looking back over the heritage and evolution of Pride; coming together to celebrate the progress made and the journey still to come.
Raising money for Opening Doors, the UK’s only dedicated charity providing activities, events, information and support services specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, non-binary or gender fluid, LGBTQ+ people over 50.
Creating an open platform for conversation, sharing personal stories, the challenges, ideas and innovations for the future of the LGBTQ+ community.
ABOUT THIS EVENT
First established as the ‘Alpha Male Dance Company’ – brought together to promote high quality performance opportunities. This group now offers open commercial dance classes for the LGBTQ+ community – and their friends – to encourage fitness, confidence and the development of dance skills.
There is absolutely no experience required. The class leader will teach you the routine, step-by-step, breaking down each move, before putting it all together and creating a fantastic, energetic routine to 'Proud Mary' by Tina Turner.
Class duration: 1 hour
ABOUT ALPHA DANCE COMPANY
More than just a dance class; Alpha Dance Company like to describe themselves as a 'dance family'. Living in London can be difficult and sometimes lonely - their aim is to create bonds and friendships outside the studio with weekly socials following each class.
