The Review: monarchy, Eurovision and Britain’s soft power
The Review is your chance to take part in an editorial meeting like no other: it’s open to the public and you’re in control of what we talk about.
Starting with the Coronation of King Charles, to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, for a single week in May the eyes of much of the world will be on the UK.
Britain has a week to show the world that despite political turmoil at home and a rocky post-Brexit relationship with our neighbours, the UK can be an open, friendly nation with a valuable role to play in the world.
In this special edition of the Review, we’ll be taking a look at different examples of Coronation coverage – including any protests – and see what the press made of this once in a lifetime event. As we’re in the middle of Eurovision week, we’ll also take a look at coverage of the UK’s hosting the competition on behalf of Ukraine, and see if it’s helping us get any good press. Royalists and Republicans all welcome.
