If you've ever been curious about martial arts but never known where to start, this is your moment.
Beginners Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
Fora - Chancery HouseBrazilian Jiu-jitsu is a grappling art built on one simple idea: with the right technique and leverage, a smaller person can hold their own against someone bigger and stronger. It's less about force and more about problem-solving, and is often described as a game of physical chess. It builds fitness, confidence and focus and a great way to switch off from work.
Leading the session is Pure Jiujitsu, the London academy founded in 2019 to deliver world-class jiu-jitsu in a state-of-the-art home. Every one of their instructors is a black belt who competes on the international stage, and they bring that same expertise to helping newcomers find their feet.
The session – 1 hour
In this hour-long session during your lunch break, the Pure Jiujitsu team will introduce you to the fundamentals in a relaxed, supportive setting. You'll learn some of the core positions and movements, practise them step by step with a partner, and get a feel for why so many people fall for the sport.
Everything is taught at a beginner's pace, with safety and respect at the heart of every class. Come on your own or bring a colleague along to try it together.
