Fitzrovia is a great place to base a business – and not just because of the prestigious connections. It also has plenty of lovely lunch spots. Visit the market stalls for something artisanal, warm and delicious.
As one of the most upmarket areas in London, you may imagine lunch in Fitzrovia involves an elegant restaurant rather than a market. But you could be missing out. Nestled among the regency buildings and museums of Bloomsbury and Marylebone, you’ll find stalls selling the finest artisan food around. Bloomsbury Farmers’ Market Bloomsbury Farmers’ Market is packed with foodies selling their best wares. It’s part of the London Farmers’ Market group. Alongside organic fruit and veg, you’ll find lots of lovingly made hot food and vegan dishes, as well as beautifully crafted cakes and breads. We recommend Humble Pie for something comforting and traditional on a cold autumn day. For something on the healthier side, try out Otabé. It serves an interesting nutritional blend of Japanese and French food. And if you’re vegan, Pomodoro E Basilio has got indulgent slow cooked plant-based food down a tee. Thanks to Opera Ice Cream and Giselle Richardson, you can finish off your hot street food with some gourmet ice cream or a couple of macarons. While you’re there, pick up a joint of top-quality meat for your Sunday roast. It’s the closest market if you’re near the Warren Street area. Marylebone Farmers’ Market If you’re nearer the Marylebone area, this market is your best bet. Like Bloomsbury, it’s part of the London Farmers’ Markets network, and is full of top-quality fruit and veg. For lunch, you can grab a hot Moussaka or South East Asian curry. Phil’s Pesto and Pasta feels just as indulgent. After you’ve warmed up from the inside out, grab some 100% spelt bread for the next morning and some local honey to spread on top. Or pick up some exotic mushrooms to make a special risotto. Our favourite smaller markets Marylebone and Bloomsbury are the main markets in Fitzrovia, but there are some other stalls dotted about the area. Goodge Place, near Goodge Street station and Great Portland Street, has a few stalls selling hot food during the week. You may find some stalls outside the American International Church on Tottenham Court Road. Our Eastcastle Street workspace is located in central Fitzrovia, close to all these hotspots and much more. Pay us a visit if you’re in the area and we’ll always be happy to show you around.
