From Great British baked goods to richly spiced Asian delights, food markets offer something everyone will love. Borough and the wider Southwark area boast an incredible selection of food markets. Enjoy these culinary delights on a stroll round South London or take them back to the comfort of a Fora workspace – the choice is yours.

Borough Market

Borough Market has been running for more than 1000 years, giving people a place to buy fresh goods from across the world. Now, it’s home to street food stalls like Middle Eastern Arabica, Greek-Cypriot Elpiniki and Scotchtails, which offers a modern take on the classic scotch egg. All 120+ stalls are open between Wednesday – Saturday and the market runs seven days a week during the month of December.

Flat Iron Square

Just south of London Bridge, Flat Iron Square houses a range of stalls in its Food Arch. Though it’s comparatively smaller to Borough Market, its tasty options are just as varied. Tuck in to fresh, hand-rolled pasta at La Nonna or enjoy delicious Vietnamese treats at Bittenclub. In the mood for something lighter? Visit Savage Salads for healthy dishes that are anything but boring.

Mercato Metropolitano

With more than 40 stalls and a micro-brewery on site, Elephant and Castle’s Mercato Metropolitano is A foodie’S heaven. Get stuck into Love Shack’s irresistible vegan offerings or enjoy smoky Turkish BBQ. Wash it all down with an Italian cocktail (or two) from That’s Food’s truck.

Maltby Street Market

Southwark’s Maltby Street Market has rotating guest spots that ensure there’s always something totally new on offer. Enjoy a lunchtime stroll sampling the tastes of The Beefsteaks, sausage specialists Bangers or the sweet treats at Bad Brownie. If you head down on a Friday, you can enjoy the guest traders that visit each week.

Southbank Centre Food Market

The Southbank Centre is best known as an arts hub, but its food market is also well worth a visit. Running Friday – Sunday, you’ll find everything from Ethiopian vegan dishes to Korrito’s Korean Burritos to enjoy during your weekends off. Finish your feast with a delicious pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tart) from Galatea.

Our Borough and Southwark offices will put you right on the doorstep of these top food stalls meaning lunch breaks will never be the same again! Pop by for a visit if you’re in the area and we’ll happily show you around our coworking spaces.
