Shoreditch is packed with avant garde eateries, quirky bars and bustling markets. The East London neighbourhood is also bursting with creativity, so there are plenty of activities you can do after you’ve clocked off.
Constructed from refitted shipping contents, Boxpark is a cross between an old-school mall and a contemporary street food market. Located in the heart of Shoreditch, it showcases arts, fashion, food and drinks brands. From seven till nine on Mondays, Boxpark hosts a Quizbox event, ideal for testing your general knowledge with co-workers. The quirky spot also has plenty of other events for after work socials, like spoken word and poetry open mic nights, gigs, and club nights on Fridays.
Dinerama is an open-air street food market that offers delicious world cuisine, as well as craft beer, wine and cocktails from 10 bars. Set in a former truck depot, it’s a great spot to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks after work. The bottom floor has a lively atmosphere and a resident DJ, while upstairs is more relaxed with large dining spaces. You can find Dinerama on Great Eastern Street and it’s just a five-minute walk from the Shoreditch High Street train station.
Village Underground is one of Shoreditch’s main creative hubs and arts venues that’s located just off Great Eastern Street. It holds everything from life drawing classes to DJ nights, and concerts to exhibitions. It’s a three-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street train station and 15 minutes from Hoxton.
Rich Mix is another venue that hosts a little bit of everything. It acts as a cinema and a space for up-and-coming and established comedians, artists and musicians to perform. So, whether your idea of a perfect after-work activity is watching a film, comedy show, or dance performance, Rich Mix offers something for everyone. It’s only a three-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street too.
Don’t fancy heading to a traditional bar for your after work social? Try Bounce Ping Pong. It’s essentially a bar filled with ping pong tables that also serves food and drinks, where large and small groups of co-workers can unwind with a bit of healthy competition. Tables can be booked for up to 25, but it’s worth calling ahead if you’re bringing a large group along.
Our Shoreditch workspace is fantastically placed to experience the East End district’s eclectic social scene after a long day of work. Come and say ‘hey’ when you’re nearby.
