You’re Dead to Me
This may be a history podcast, but there’s a lot of great material about gender equality. Discover how inspiring women like Boudica, Joan of Arc and Harriet Tubman shook off the shackles of gender inequality to change the course of history. The one on the history of the LGBTQ community is also a firm favourite.

The High Low
There’s a lot to love about The High Low by journalists, Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes. It’s a great listen if you want a good mix of current affairs and pop culture, from the Obamas to Victoria’s Secret. It also has an episode featuring Glamrou, an Iraqi-Brit drag queen who has written a book on identifying as queer within a religion that sees homosexuality as a crime.

Woman’s Hour has been around for years. It’s practically a UK institution now. Thanks to the world of podcasts, even more of us can listen to the timeless discussions. Tune in to hear Jenni Murray and guests mull over current issues from a female perspective. The World for Women in 2020 episode offers a poignant reality check. It explores gender equality in the household, the workplace and health system. About two thirds of the way through it gets to the section on the workplace which, of course, we found incredibly interesting.

Late Night Woman’s Hour
If you want something a bit more light-hearted but with just as much grit, we can’t recommend Late Night Women’s Hour enough. You’re bound to crack a smile as it delves into the kinds of conversations around gender equality that you’d have with your friends. We recommend the episode on the gender price gap – but prepare to feel irritated.

Call your Girlfriend
When was the last time you called your friend for a catch up? Each week, two long distance friends have a call and talk about everything from pop culture to politics. We particularly enjoyed the one on bad bosses. Have a listen and then call a friend to discuss it – keeping the conversation going is crucial for working towards gender equality.
